Threes! tops Qi’s iPad game chart for February with a clever new take on the number puzzler. The idea here is to match up numbered cards on an increasingly cramped game grid. At #2 this month is Out There, which couldn’t be much more different from Threes! if it tried. Developer Mi-Clos Studio’s game is a melancholic sci-fi adventure built on hundreds of life-or-death decisions. Just behind that is Final Fantasy VI, perhaps the most hotly anticipated series conversion yet. There’s been a little consternation over its new 2D visuals, but there’s no disguising the JRPG magic underneath. Finally, Eliss Infinity supplies more challenging and inventive multi-touch puzzles.

Kids Math Count Number Game might be a bit of a mouthful, sure, but it’s yet another successful educational app for kids. It sits atop the iPad Qi app chart for February, you see. At #3, DropTask HD takes the humble to-do list and beefs it up into a full-on project management tool. Despite this added complexity, its colourful and intuitive UI ensures it’s always easy to use. Gro Garden, meanwhile, is another kids’ app. This time, it’s teaching children all about the joys and benefits of organic gardening, with a stunning art style and an intuitive interface. Finally, Chicago Avenue Moon is an intriguing generative music tool that essentially soundtracks your life, altering its tones depending on your location, the time of day, and the phases of the moon.
