Thomas Was Alone Jumping Onto PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U this November

Curve Digital has today announced its intention to bring indie platformer Thomas Was Alone to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U.

Created by Mike Bithell, with a BAFTA-award winning voice over performance by Danny Wallace and with a rousing score by David Housden, Thomas Was Alone is a study in simplicity. A 2D platform-puzzle game that quickly engages and engrosses the player with its charming storyline and art style.

To celebrate the announcement, Curve has created ‘documentary’ video of the experience of porting the game to Console, which you can view and embed on YouTube.

Originally released on Steam in July 2012, Thomas has since enjoyed releases on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and iPad, developed by Curve Studios and Bossa Studios. The game has sold over one million copies worldwide, making it one of the bestselling indie titles ever.

Curve Studios, the original developer of the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions, will be developing the new versions of Thomas Was Alone, which will be available on the Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2014.

As a cross-buy title, The PlayStation version of Thomas Was Alone will be available free of charge to anyone who owns the original game on PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita, including customers who downloaded the game during PlayStation Plus.

Curve Digital Managing Director, Jason Perkins said: “Thomas Was Alone came to PlayStation right at the start of their campaign to make console development more appealing to smaller developers. Since then, indie games have become a much larger part of the landscape for all major platform holders. It’s exciting to be working with Mike again and to be able to bring the title to even more gamers while offering a free copy for original PlayStation fans.”

Creator and developer of the original game, Mike Bithell, commented: “Working with Sony on Thomas was a great experience and opened my eyes to the potential of smaller budget titles on consoles in general.”

The game will be available to purchase on all formats for £6.99 / $9.99.
