Appxplore maintains their status as a pioneering studio in Malaysia as Alien Hive, a genre-bending puzzler available on iOS and Android, is featured on all Google Play stores worldwide.
The game is only the second in the country to achieve this landmark feat after Sporos, which is also by the same developer.
Since October 2, Alien Hive has been included in more than 40 Featured lists and is easily accessible via the Google Play homepage in 18 markets, including the U.S., U.K. and Japan. The global recommendation of the game gives large credit to recently-added support for 11 languages, as well as it having been featured by Apple on the App Store in early September.
The boost in player outreach is expected to see an identical spike in downloads from Alien Hive’s current tally of three million across all platforms.
The freemium game blends match-three, sliding tiles and intuitive resource management into a winning combination that has enchanted puzzle enthusiasts and new converts alike. Instead of disappearing, objects evolve when arranged in rows of three. The ultimate goal is to advance the collectible aliens to their final forms via a successive series of evolutions.
Alien Hive was released in early 2013, during what proved to be a breakout year for Appxplore, having showcased its games to public acclaim at Casual Connect Asia – one of the region’s premier trade events – and even walking away with the award for best art. A spin-off is in the pipeline, ensuring sustained interest in the original title.
Appxplore recently became part of Australia-based iCandy Interactive Limited.
Alien Hive is available for download on the App Store and Google Play.
