One of the most celebrated games of recent years will arrive on Xbox One soon, thanks to Facepalm games and Curve Digital.
The Swapper began life as project developed by two university students, Olli Harjola and Otto Hantula, and met with critical acclaim for its story, level design and visual style when it was launched on PC in 2013.
The game is set on Theseus, a damaged space station and research facility. As players explore the station, they are able to create up to four clones of their character, switching between them at will in order to solve a huge variety of clever puzzles.
It’s a claustrophobic, dark and atmospheric environment, but it’s also one that looks like no other game. The artwork of the Swapper was made using hand-crafted materials and clay, and creates a world quite unlike anything else.
“The game has received almost universally exceptional feedback from press and public alike, and the opportunity to bring it to a new console audience proved irresistible,” says Jason Perkins, MD, Curve Digital. “It’s a truly astonishing game which leaves an impact long after it has been completed and we can’t wait to see how the Xbox One audience embraces it.”
The Swapper will launch globally on Xbox One on June 5th 2015, priced £11.99 / $14.99 / €14.99
