Independent developer, McPeppergames, today announced the debut of its new comic app “Chris Noeth’s MAYA” for teenagers and adults, available now for FREE on the App Store as a universal app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Former McPeppergames apps (games) downloaded over 1.7 million times since April 2012. With the new comic/game app “MAYA” McPeppergames is taking its first step on new territory… Comic publishing. “MAYA” started as a creator-owned comic and was meant to be printed for the classic US-comic market. With more and more sold digital devices and more and more classic comic readers jumping to the new mediums “MAYA” creator Chris Noeth (“Tales From The Crypt”, “It Came From Beneath The Sea… Again!”) decided to publish his comic series digital, starting with an universal app for iPhones and iPads, followed by an Android version later this year.
McPeppergames included a small mini-game to the traditional comic part, in which the reader can play a Fruit Ninja style game from the point of view of one of the comics main characters.
The comic itself centers on a young girl with superpowers. What begins as a solid Sci-Fi story later moves into the realm of fantasy, but Noeth promised the story will satisfy hard-core Sci-Fi and superhero fans out there later down the road.
McPeppergames by the way is looking carefully now, because if the downloads for this new app are good, there is a possibility they will open the doors for other comic-creators to publish their creator-owned books. With “MAYA” there are also early talks to widen the “MAYA” universe by developing a strategic game in the future.
“MAYA” can be downloaded for free in iTunes for iPhone and iPad
