Dancing Sorcerer Games is delighted to announce that their debut title Road of Kings is available for sale today on iTunes and Google Play. Road of Kings combines elements of open world exploration, choose-your-own-adventure style storytelling, and a dynamic world whose landscape changes based on player actions.
“Road of Kings is a turn-based hex crawl, inspired by awesome tabletop games from my childhood in the early ’80s,” said Paul Siegel, co-founder of Dancing Sorcerer Games. “Unlike most current RPGs that focus more on tactical combat, Road of Kings is more about high level strategy and story. We keep the combat light and fast, and the real joy is in the exploration of the world.”
In Road of Kings the player takes control of a barbarian who wants to declare himself king, but needs the cash to back up his claim. There are a set number of days to gather enough loot, during which the player must navigate a large and varied map populated with a variety of dangerous foes, potential allies, and hidden treasures. The player must choose carefully when to raid the characters he meets for plunder, and when to forge alliances and recruit new members to his band of treasure seekers. The dangers are many and the road is difficult – a gruesome or humorous death can be as much fun as discovering hidden paths to victory!
