Inspired by the classic and intricate arcade shooters, Steelbound Sky’s game play aims to bring a new twist by offering controls that take advantage of modern touch devices. Rather than trying to retro fit analogue buttons to a screen, players use simple touch gestures to create wind streams, temporary bursts of versatile currents, to manipulate enemies and their projectiles.
Wind streams can be drawn consecutively, at varying lengths and used in combination to alter enemy patterns. Mastering the wind art is necessary to protect the town under constant siege. There are dozens of different enemy types; They fire, swing, dive and bounce all across the playing field. Using the enemies’ own powers against them is an integral mechanic to take control of the battlefield, and offers a fresh experience to all players.
Enemies will quickly increase in number and begin their attack on the town. Hundreds of waves and challenging patterns will be encountered. Player’s will need memorisation, creativity and determination to get through all 7 levels.
Powerful abilities can be unlocked; Players can burn enemies with lightning, tear up projectiles with tornadoes, and blast fleets of foes with the cannon. By combining all these powers together and by defeating the challenging bosses players can become the true guardian of the skies.
Steelbound Sky is now available on the App Store, and will work with most iOS devices
