When was the last time you played a game where the main protagonist is a rolled up, bouncing armadillo? Years ago? Never? Well that is going to change soon! We at the Game Loop Lab think that armadillos are totally underrepresented in games! Blockadillo is going to change that!
We are proud to announce that Blockadillo will hit the Google Play Store on January 22nd 2015. If you can’t wait that long to play your favorite armadillo based block breaker we have more good news for you!
Blockadillo now has a public beta test and anyone is invited to join.
To join the beta test visit our website at www.blockadillo.com/#joinbeta and follow the easy 2 step instruction. All you need is a Google Plus Account and a Android smart phone!
If you have never heard about Blockadillo here is a description:
Blockadillo is an arcady Android game where you have to smash colored blocks with a color changing armadillo. The catch? The armadillo is rolled up and bounces up and down by itself the whole time. You can only steer it left and right to reach the blocks you have to smash in order to complete a level.
This may be harder than it sounds. The blocks are colored and the Armadillo has to take on the same color to smash the blocks. Changing color is accomplished through special blocks. Besides these there are a lot of other things to find in a typical Blockadillo level like: blocks that can only be moved with the right color, switches, ancient machines, moving platforms, deadly traps and huge bubbling lava pits.
Join the Armadillo and its friends on their journey through the jungle in order to find all of the lost golden idols.
Blockadillo’s independent development team consists of three people.
David Baroti and Michael Olp are game enthusiasts and have known each other since school. Back then they started to create little games for themselves and friends. In the last years they hadn’t much contact due to Dave moving to Budapest, Hungary after school and Michael living in Germany. This changed in October 2013 when Michael quit his day job as a software engineer and started to work on Blockadillo and asked Dave to join and create the graphics for the game. André Engelhardt, a sound designer with lots of experience from film and TV, joined later in 2013 and has created the unique soundtrack and soundscape for Blockadillo.
