Main Release
WarpBall, a new game from Unruly Attractions, has now entered a public alpha, and is available to buy on Desura. The game is best described as a cross between football, and air-hockey, and it’s hyper-neon graphic style has proved incredibly popular.
Gameplay consists of players on opposing teams attempting to bounce or blast the ball into their opponent’s goal. Their base movement speed, however, is slower than the ball’s maximum speed, meaning players must rely on their ability to teleport around the pitch to get into position. When shown at local-multiplayer night Mult3clash, WarpBall was picked up quickly by many, although mastering the intricacies of warping is something that takes time.
Currently available for AlphaFunding on Desura, while the main mechanics are implemented there are still various features being added to the game. The most recent update included the first implementation of online play, although the game is much better enjoyed played in the same room as your opponents. Intended additional modes include free-for-all survival mode, handicaps and a “Quantum Ball” which is only affected by players warping through it.
