Marvelous Europe and Genera Mobile have today released Touch Racing 2 on iPhone and iPad, a fast and furious arcade racer with extreme speed cars, offroad vehicles and power boats – all the ingredients to fuel a mobile smash.
The sequel to 2010’s hit Touch Racing Nitro, the game is the latest in the multi-title partnership between Marvelous and Spanish group Genera Mobile, creators of the multi-million downloaded RunBot and the mega-successful Disney Frozen Free Fall.
Touch Racing 2’s refined and intuitive ‘touch & drag’ interface is at the heart of a game anyone can learn in seconds, but with the skill, depth and strategy to keep players speeding back for more.
Starting as an unknown rookie in the ultra-competitive remote controlled (R.C.) racing scene, players must race their way to the top, perfecting their skills in a wide range of vehicles along the way.
Tuning and customizing each vehicle is at the heart of Touch Racing 2. Players can choose from 150 performance upgrades and hundreds of customisation options. Engines, spoilers, tyres and much more can be improved – and a plethora of custom paints and neons let you make make your ride your very own.
The single player experience is heavily intertwined with competitive multiplayer action. Racing asynchronously with Facebook friends or random opponents is a great way of earning extra cash for upgrades, as well as showing off your ride in PvP competitions – whether on water, offroad or on the asphalt.
“Touch Racing 2 fuses the best of modern-day smartphone racers like CSR or Real Racing with arcade classics like Micro Machines or Super Sprint,” says Steven Tarry, Project Manager, Marvelous Games. “We’ve worked really hard to create what we think is the best and most natural racing game control system seen on a touch screen to date. Touch Racing 2 gives players an immediate, addictive and accessible experience, but is also fun, exciting and rewarding to play… hopefully enough to keep people coming back for more!”
“Creating Touch Racing 2 has been a great and rewarding experience,” says Gonzalo Santos, Lead Programmer. “We set out to create a game that we ourselves would enjoy as gamers – something that can be played in bite sized portions but still remains a challenge throughout. With Touch Racing 2 I think we have achieved that goal, and hope players enjoy it as much as we have.”
Touch Racing 2 is available FREE on iOS devices, with an Android version launching in the near future.
