Fiz: Brewery Management Game forms a rich head atop December’s potent Android Qi game chart brew. Bit By Bit’s charming casual business-management game had the critics feeling all giddy and light-headed last month. Hic! December was a good month for Tin Man Games, too, which has two representatives in the gaming chart. Island of the Lizard King sits at #2 with its distinctive Fighting Fantasy gamebook style. Tin Man Games’s second game on this month’s leaderboard is Gary Chalk’s Gun Dogs. It’s another interactive gamebook, but this time with artwork provided by Lone Wolf illustrator Gary Chalk. Down in eighth place, meanwhile, Savant – Ascent is an oddball arcade game with 2D shmup action, a 16-bit Castlevania aesthetic, and a pounding dubstep soundtrack from Norwegian electronic artist Savant.
Given the season during which it was released, it’s perhaps unsurprising that Compare Local Shopping Prices from Price Patrol features at the top of December’s Android Qi app chart. This bargain-hunting app is far more cleanly presented than many of its rivals. At #3, the creator of SquareHub provides a welcome dose of privacy in the world of social networking. It’s ideal for sharing those Christmas photos with close friends and family. Down in fifth spot, meanwhile, is JotterPad X, a minimalist gem of a word processing app. Creating text documents on a mobile suddenly becomes viable, which is a miracle in itself. Smart IR Remote is a comprehensive universal remote control that you can use to operate almost any device. TVs, set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, air conditioners, cameras – all and more fall under this app’s spell. Magic!
