Atari®, one of the world’s most recognized publishers and producers of interactive entertainment, today announced that RollerCoaster Tycoon® 4 Mobile™ is now available on the Amazon Appstore and Google Play as a free-to-play download for Android devices. As the latest installment of the popular RollerCoaster Tycoon® franchise, Android gamers worldwide can now build their own electrifying rides and create the ultimate amusement park.
As one of Atari’s most recognizable and globally-renowned titles, Atari first launched RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Since its debut in April 2014, the popular theme park simulation game has become a mobile gaming phenomenon, achieving the No. 1 ranking in the App Store in numerous countries including the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, and Switzerland. In celebration of this explosive success, Atari recently made the iOS version free-to-play, which landed as the No. 1 games app in the App Store and No. 2 overall free app in the U.S.. To date, mobile gamers worldwide have launched more than 10 million sessions, built hundreds of thousands of roller coasters, spent over 10 combined years of in-game time playing, and created over a million paths.
The free-to-play Android edition includes all gameplay experiences offered for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, including the latest park attractions, social features and recent updates. With numerous ways to share and customize coasters and rides, players can grow their parks and connect with friends online to exchange blueprints, send a flyover plane with customized messages, and compare parks.
With this latest version of RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile, Atari has incorporated classic gameplay features from the original games including Queue Lines. Entirely new gameplay, including a RollerCoaster Tycoon-themed slots mini-game and billboards that showcase real-world advertisements adding to the realism of the parks has also been introduced! Additional highly popular and nostalgic RollerCoaster Tycoon features including transport rides, janitors, and even the ability to make theme park visitors visibly sick after enjoying too many coaster rides will be available soon.
“RollerCoaster Tycoon is one of the most successful franchises in Atari history. Bringing the classic title to mobile platforms, such as Android, allows fans to enjoy the timeless classic anytime from anywhere,” said Fred Chesnais, Chief Executive Officer, Atari, Inc. “RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile has proven to be wildly popular amongst the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch community.
