Get ready for an entirely new combat racing experience…. Tastee Beverage Studios today announced that its new VR combat racing game, Bank Limit: Advanced Battle Racing, is expected to launch on March 28th in conjunction with the release of the Oculus Rift hardware. In development for over two years, the combat magnet racer pushes the limits of fantasy racing with immersive VR graphics and an incredible sense of speed. As seen in this teaser trailer, the game features intense drifting, drafting and head-controlled weaponry on gravity-defying tracks.
Bank Limit: ABR puts players in futuristic race cars that can hit speeds in excess of Mach 1 while dealing punishment to opponents via head-aimed lasers and missiles. Vehicles and weapon firing are controlled with a gamepad, but players can look in any direction at any time for an intuitive driving experience—look up to navigate a loop-the-loop, left and right to monitor opponents or set up upcoming turns, or down to glance at status via in-car gauges. When looking inside the cockpit, players can see the articulated body of their avatar reacting to immense G-forces as it controls the steering wheel, adding to the realism and sensation of speed.
“Bank Limit: ABR takes what we love about classic high-octane combat racers and blasts it into a future where you feel the thrilling vertigo of cresting a massive drop, the kick of acceleration when you Boost and the heat of no-holds-barred battles,” said Harley Benedict, Co-Founder and Lead Programmer of Tastee Beverage Studios. “Designed specifically to take advantage of Oculus Rift hardware and the horsepower of advanced gaming PCs, Bank Limit: ABR will bring players blazing speed, furious combat and hard-hitting competition with a new level of VR intensity.”
Bank Limit: ABR is all about classic combat racing, delivered with advanced technology and a full-on commitment to mashing the accelerator and blasting away at rivals to reach the finish line in first place. It’s not easy to win, but AI competitors are balanced with the player’s skill level via performance metrics that are tracked in real time to ensure that every race is a fight to the end. The game will include single player and multiplayer modes, over 15 tracks set in three different worlds, up to 24 cars on the track at once and a selection of vehicles and upgrades. Racing has never felt faster—get ready to hit the starting line when Bank Limit ABR launches on the Oculus Rift store on March 28.
