RISING STAR GAMES AND KRAKEN EMPIRE JOIN FORCES FOR THE RELEASE OF KROMAIA
With the ink drying on its new partnership with Spanish developer Kraken Empire, Rising Star Games has expanded its digital release schedule for 2014 to include Kromaia – a revolutionary arcade shoot-‘em-up coming to Steam and other digital PC retailers later this year.
As frantic as it is beautiful, Kromaia’s approach to gameplay and AI revolutionises the shoot-‘em-up concept in a variety of ways. Giving players full 360˚ freedom while insane enemy swarms and giant guardians attack changes the traditional style of arcade shooting significantly. Also, adaptive AI creates a special kind of emergent gameplay: one that changes variables like enemy speed and formations to offer something new depending on how you play. Combine this with ultra-manoeuvrable ships and a wide range of worlds to explore, and you’ve got a shoot-‘em-up that changes the genre forever.
Not surprisingly, the incredible buzz around the 3D Wire 2013 Best Indie Game winner and multi-award finalist saw Kromaia pass through Steam Greenlight with ease earlier this year. With Kraken Empire reaching the end of Kromaia’s epic four-year development though, the time for everyone to enjoy this must-have PC title is rapidly approaching – fans of unique, intelligent and exciting arcade shooters can look forward to seeing Kromaia later in 2014.
“Our history with arcade shooters is second to none, so partnering with Kraken Empire to release Kromaia makes perfect sense for Rising Star Games,” said Martin Defries, Managing Director of Rising Star Games. “It’s not just a reinvention for the genre, but a stunningly beautiful one to boot and we know that everyone – both shoot-‘em-up newcomers and long-time fans of the genre – is going to love it to pieces.”
“We’re really excited about working with Rising Star Games to release Kromaia,” said Antonio Iglesias, co-founder of Kraken Empire. “A lot of work has gone into making Kromaia and we know that that with their help, it’s going to be the success that we always hoped it would be.”
