XCOM: Enemy Unknown Out Now for Linux

Feral Interactive today announced that the award-winning strategy game XCOM®: Enemy Unknown,and all available add-on content including the XCOM: Enemy Within expansion,is out now for Linux. Developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K for PC and consoles, XCOM: Enemy Unknown is the first game to be developed and published for Linux by Feral Interactive.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a re-imagining of the groundbreaking classic X-COM: UFO Defense (1994) that tasks players with defending the Earth from a hostile alien invasion using a combination of deep strategy and intense tactical combat. As the commander of XCOM, a secret global military organization, players oversee combat strategies and individual unit tactics as well as base management and resource allocation.

The Linux version of XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a SteamPlay title that runs on Ubuntu 14.04 and Valve’s SteamOS.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown for Linux retails in North America for US $29.99, £14.99 (inc. VAT) in the UK and €19,99 (inc. VAT) throughout Europe. XCOM: Enemy Unknown and its add-on content are available now from Steam at http://store.steampowered.com/sub/37429/. Minimum system requirements call for a 2.0GHz Dual-Core CPU with at least 4GB RAM, 512MB or better graphics card, and Ubuntu 14.04 (64bit). The game requires an AMD 6000 series graphics card or better, an NVIDIA 600 series or better or an Intel IrisPro series or better. A Steam account is required.
