New roguelike adventure Dungeons of Evermore expands on tabletop roleplaying board games to bring an interesting new take on the party-based adventure.
The Dungeons of Evermore are now available to be explored on Apple’s iOS App Store. A roleplaying game featuring randomly generated dungeons and unique mission types, Dungeons of Evermore brings the strategy of tabletop board games to the iPhone and iPad.
The Dungeons of Evermore allows a party of up to four adventurers to explore an endless variety of missions within the dungeon. Party members can choose from five different classes and train themselves through ten levels. At each level, the character can choose to either boost a permanent stat like attack rating or damage or learn a new ability. This gives the player choice on how to proceed with each character.
Mission types include exploring the dungeon, clearing out specific types of creature, treasure hunts and trap-filled missions. As the characters progress in level, so do the creatures of the dungeon, presenting a greater challenge with unique abilities of their own.
Death in the Dungeons of Evermore is permanent, but characters have the ability to bandage their fallen comrades if they can get to them quickly, but if a character is left bleeding for too long, they will die. This system of permanent death brings the interesting choice of whether or not to flee combat and try to make it back through an entire dungeon level to the entrance. There is no picking up from the last saved point, and sometimes, it is best to leave a fallen comrade so the rest of the party can escape.
