Lunchtime Studios today announced the early access release of their new character-driven poker cheating game, Lords of New York. Initially announced on Kickstarter in 2013, Lords of New York features competitive multiplayer with balanced abilities and a full emote system to help players bond with their characters. The Early Access release features 6 playable characters, available in multiplayer or against AI.
Regular updates are planned, with the first being a preview of Lords of New York’s Story Mode, an adventure game-like gameplay mode where every character has a story, and new playable character introductions.
Lunchtime Studios will be showing off the latest Lords of New York features at PAX South in San Antonio on January 27th-29th.
“I couldn’t be more proud of what my team has accomplished,” said Dan Higgins, lead programmer and co-owner of Lunchtime Studios. “What started as a small idea in my head many years ago has turned into a game that’s as fun to play as it is to watch.”
“We did something different with Lords of New York,” said Cyrus Nemati, producer and writer for Lords of New York. “By focusing on character and a distinct style, we believe we’ve created a game that will withstand the test of time.”
