Futuridium EP Deluxe launches today on Wii U, version for New 3DS announced (Video)

Futuridium EP Deluxe makes its debut on Nintendo Wii U eShop, bringing its old school action to Nintendo fans. The game is priced 9.99$ / 9.99€ / 7.99£, with a 20% launch discount for the first week.

Futuridium EP Deluxe is a psychedelic retro inspired shoot’em up with a modern twist, that blends together frantic action, puzzle elements, a vibrant low poly aesthetic and an heart pumping electronic soundtrack.
As a lone starship pilot lost in a dimensional loop just before a big space battle, with a limited and constantly depleting energy tank, your only hope is to fly as fast as possible over enormous space dreadnoughts, destroying their defenses and the cyan power cubes to get some energy back.

On a related note, we can confirm that the game will come out also on Nintendo New 3DS at a later date, and will be fully cross-buy with the Wii U version. So you buy once, you get both!

The N3DS version will run at 60fps with full stereoscopic 3D support.

More About Futuridium EP Deluxe
Fly through outer space at breakneck speeds and obliterate huge dreadnoughts in Futuridium EP Deluxe, a retro-inspired shoot-‘em-up with a bold and brilliant visual style for New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL. As a lone pilot lost in the infinite loop of Futuridium, take control of an incredibly agile starship, blast down enemy defences and eradicate a series of battleships from a celestial limbo.

Fast-paced action

Weave in and out of unrelenting streams of laser cannon fire, soar over massive frigates and destroy the cyan cubes scattered across their surfaces as quickly as possible – your limited energy bar is constantly depleting and is in danger of expiring entirely. Once all of the cubes have been destroyed, the core reveals itself – pulverise it with your ship’s dual lasers to utterly annihilate the entire gunship and scatter its debris far and wide across the solar system.

Agile but fragile

Move with breathtaking agility, switch between two eye-watering speeds and perform 180° turns on demand in order to reach cubes in precarious positions. Shoot down cubes in quick succession to earn cube chains, increase your multiplier, claim high scores and replenish your ever-decreasing energy bar. Compete for medals in 50 stages across five zones – each zone with its own intense boss stage – by completing missions unscathed, stringing together cube chains and hitting the devilishly challenging target times.

Master blaster

Don’t let the lightning-fast action fool you – each level is a tricky puzzle in and of itself, with strategically placed cubes trying to catch you out at every turn. To really master a level, you’ll have to try, try and try again – memorise the cube locations, expertly line up your shots, then shoot from afar to complete missions in record time.

A colourful cosmos

In the world of Futuridium, the dark and desolate vacuum of space clashes with a vibrant aesthetic and retro-inspired art style in spectacular fashion. Destroy more and more cubes to earn new skins and mix up the rich colour scheme even further. As you twist and turn your way through an ethereal sea of brilliant colour, bop your head to an equally vibrant electronic soundtrack.

Test yourself

For an authentic and tricky arcade experience, try out Classic Mode, where your boosters have been disabled, your energy bar diminishes more rapidly and a complete lack of energy-giving cubes makes every second count. Unlock even more modes and mix up the action by progressing through the game and earning medals.

Step into the cockpit and test your mettle against the light-speed action of Futuridium EP Deluxe for New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL.
