Nighthawk Interactive has announced that it is scheduled to launch independent developer Renegade Kid’s Mutant Mudds Super Challenge on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system and Windows PC on July 26. The game is a sequel of super challenging proportions to 2012’s original, critically praised, side-scrolling platformer Mutant Mudds, featuring over 40 totally new levels and five mighty boss battles designed to test the skills of super players. It also includes five colorful new pixel-art world themes and bonus chiptune music.
Mutant Mudds Super Challenge twists traditional 2D platformers with three dimension-bending layers to jump between: the foreground, background and middle ground. Armed with a potent water cannon and jetpack, players can run, leap, crouch, hover and shoot to traverse each stage’s exciting assortment of enemies, spikes, phasing platforms, crushing blocks and more. Core abilities can be augmented with special power-ups to increase hover time, perform a huge vertical boost, or equip a power shot, and hidden pathways offer pick-ups and 20 secret unlockable characters for intrepid explorers to find.
Mutant Mudds Super Challenge is expected to arrive on July 26 on the PlayStation®4 system and PlayStation®Vita system with cross-buy support through the PlayStation®Store, as well as Windows PC via Steam. It is rated E (Everyone) by the ESRB.
