(Qi) round-up for 2013.

Close behind is D&D Lords of Waterdeep, a marvellous conversion of a quirky fantasy boardgame. It’s deep, alright. Sorry, folks, we didn’t have to go fishing for any compliments concerning Ridiculous Fishing. It seems everyone has just fallen for Vlambeer’s casual classic hook, line, and sinker. At #7, meanwhile, is Simogo. With DEVICE 6, the Swedish team straddles the divide between e-book and video game like nothing else we’ve ever seen. The writing was on the wall that this was going to be great, and so it proved.
In the world of apps, FoundMoney is the best-reviewed iPhone app of 2013. With the world economy up the spout, it’s easy to see why this money-saving tool has proved so popular. Just behind at #2, John Lennon: The Bermuda Tapes is a slickly produced album app for which the dev has gathered rare audio snippets from the former Beatle’s trip to Bermuda in 1980. Groovy. With Crowded Fiction, Vidya Gamer (Hah!) showcases one of 2013’s top trends: marrying the worlds of fiction writing and video games. As a solid platform for a continual supply of interactive stories, we reckon this one’s going to be tough to put down. Another 2013 trend was sharing brief video snippets over social networks. So, it’s little surprise that YAKiT’s ability to turn photos into hilarious animated footage has proven such a hit over the past 12 months.
