(N.B. The monthly games chart is based on titles released and reviewed in the last month. The apps chart is based on titles reviewed over the last three months. Hence, this is not a cumulative chart and earlier released titles may have higher scores.)

Somewhat unsurprisingly, hit casual puzzler Threes! tops the Android Qi games chart for March. It’s all about combining matching number cards, managing space, and besting your last high score. Card City Nights, at #3, is a quirky take on the card battler. Here, you have to build decks and outmanoeuvre your rival in one-on-one battle, albeit in a fresh and wacky cartoon setting. Moving into darker territory is Out There, a brutal sci-fi strategy game that sees you exploring mysterious planets, scavenging for resources, and dying a cruel death in the cold void of space. Repeatedly. No such existential concerns in Smash Hit, mind. In this one, you are simply required to smash stuff by, err, hitting it with metal balls. Mediocre’s game earns its place at #7 with sharp physics and a Zen atmosphere.

Another month, another polished Android browser topping the Qi apps chart. This time around, it’s Dodol Launcher, which offers lots of lovely custom-made themes and a slick radial quick settings menu. Down in third place, Remindus is a neat reminder app that helps you keep other people on target. Assign a task to your friends or colleagues, and monitor when it’s completed. Flipp takes the #4 slot with its intelligent coupon search and management system. Finally, SwipeSpeare is an ingenious translator dedicated to the works of William Shakespeare. Struggling to figure out what the Bard of Avon is on about? Then swipe to see a modern English translation. Done.
