Rugby 18, Developer diary video aims to show just how ‘real’ it is

Bigben and Eko Software have released a Developers’ Diary to show how the RUGBY 18 team has translated all the details and specific aspects of ‘real’ rugby into a video game. RUGBY 18 will be released October 27, 2017 on PlayStation®4, Xbox One and PC.

To stay true to the sport and its particular characteristics, the developers had to overcome a number of challenges to ensure the game phases linked seamlessly and to provide a realistic experience. Player movements were recreated using motion capture technology on real rugby players. Each player’s statistics are also individually represented using real match data.
