Steel Wool Games has confirmed that their game, Quar: Battle for Gate 18, will be a spearhead of the HTC Vive’s launch line-up when the virtual reality system releases on April 5, 2016. The single-player turn-based VR combat game employs Vive’s immersive capabilities to deliver an innovative new take on action-strategy gameplay.
Playing with scale is one of VR’s most compelling features; Quar: Battle for Gate 18, offers a god’s-eye view to interact with toy-size units or, alternatively, the ability to shrink down and walk with full-size Quar units on the battlefield. The player can even get up close and personal with “life size” units in the Quarpedia to learn historical uses, stats, and in-game abilities. Quar: Battle for Gate 18 will ship with room-scale Vive support, with support for other VR and non-VR platforms coming in the future.
