Anuman d’Interactive’s adventure game label – released a new online version of “Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy”. iOS owners of this game can update on the Appstore, the others can try it for free.
“Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy” released on iOS in 2012, is a benchmark in point & click adventure games history. Today, it becomes available in an enhanced version (sounds, animation of the environments, etc.)
In “Amerzone” – first game by designer Benoît Sokal (“Syberia“,“Sinking Island“) – the player begins a disturbing journey that takes him in South America, in Amerzone. He has to bring back from this strange land and wildlife, an egg of the famed white bird that was stolen fifty years earlier, in order to bring back to life the disappeared species.
After a great success among the public (over 1.5 million units of “Amerzone” sold), fans can now play remastered versions of this title enhanced in multiple ways.
There are now more places to explore, such as the top of the lighthouse in the first chapter of “Amerzone : The Explorer’s Legacy”. A Syberia easter egg is also included for the fans of the author.
Visually, “Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy” have been reworked to make the universe more colorful. Some areas have even been recreated from scratch with new textures and new scenery (the area of the volcano and the village, for instance). Also, multiple sounds have been implemented to reinforce the atmosphere. Finally, for more dynamism, various animations have been added: objects in the scenery, encountered characters, animals, etc.
“Amerzone is one of the main references in our adventure games catalog. Today, we keep having our collection evolve, especially on mobile devices, in order to give the players the opportunity to (re)discover our hit titles in remastered versions. For those who already have the first versions, they just need to update freely the new version to discover the numerous changes” adds Elliot Grassiano, VP at Microïds.
The update is available as of August 16 2013 on iOS.
