Following the success of last year’s hit mobile game, Snapimals, developer BebopBee has today released the second game in the Snapimals family, Jurassic GO – Dinosaur Snap Adventure. Jurassic GO takes players on a photo-snapping journey a million years in the making – and setting itself apart from its predecessor, the game takes a different approach to pricing that players and parents alike should find refreshing.
“Our fans loved Snapimals, but we kept hearing the same request time and again: ‘give us a way to buy out of the energy system!’,” said Ayan Akbar, Lead Director at BebopBee. “Jurassic GO is our answer to those players. By offering Jurassic GO as a one-time purchase, anyone can enjoy the fun of Snapimals without worrying about free-to-play friction. There are no energy timers to worry about or in-app purchases to buy. With Jurassic GO, you can play as much as you want, anytime you want.”
Like Snapimals before it, Jurassic GO takes players on a wild photo safari adventure. Players will journey along a guided path and use their smartphones and tablets like a camera, turning and aiming to capture images of awe-inspiring dinosaurs in the wild. Describing their art style as “modern-day rubber hose,” the game’s look is reminiscent of the earliest days of animation. Their influences range from Winsor McCay and Ub Iwerks, and they even draw on Art Deco for their user interface. In short, the team at BebopBee have developed a remarkable look that’s familiar, yet entirely their own.
In addition to the prehistoric picture prey and new pricing model, Snapimals fans will find a number of new features in Jurassic GO. New additions include a playable harmonica to lure shy dinos out of hiding, and the ability to unlock legendary dinosaurs with the help of your friends.
“We’ve listened closely to our community when developing Jurassic GO, and truly believe we’ve built a much tighter and more delightful experience as a result,” said Akbar. “If you’re the sort of gamer that thrills in the victory of finishing a game, or even just loathes the thought of energy timers, Jurassic GO is the Snapimals experience you’ve been waiting for.”
Jurassic GO – Dinosaur Snap Adventure is available now on the App Store for $3.99 with no in-app purchases. It will be arriving on Google Play later this month.
