Award Winning Puzzle Game One Upon Light Out Now On Steam

The Rising Star Games published PS4 hit One Upon Light is available now on Steam and selected digital retailers for £8.99/€11.99. Winner of the IGF China “Best Game” Award 2013 and Famitsu’s Tokyo Game Show Indie Award 2014, SUTD GameLab’s One Upon Light features a variety of unique puzzle game mechanics, revolving around the avoidance of light. Combined with a charming art style inspired by black and white cartoons, One Upon Light will delight the eye and entertain the brain.

One Upon Light takes place in the ruined remains of the Aurora Science labs. Players take control of “The Scientist” and learns exposure to light is lethal. Gamers will solve challenging puzzles that require The Scientist to overcome obstacles of light by utilizing switches, crates, and blocks to create shadows. Master the advanced power of the Shadow Echo to create and cast shadows as puzzles become more complex and challenging.

If it sounds dangerous, that’s probably because it is. Especially if something goes wrong and harmless light becomes the deadliest thing imaginable…

Set in a world where the rules of light and shadow no longer apply, One Upon Light sees you exploring the ruined remains of the Aurora Science’s labs in search of answers. What happened here? Who are you? And, most importantly, will things ever be the same again? The answers are there to find but whatever you do, don’t go into the light…

◾Top-down puzzle gameplay sees you using the unique properties of light and shadow to explore and overcome obstacles.

◾Use switches, blocks, carts and other techniques to create shadows, blocking out the light that will otherwise end your adventure…

◾Use the power of the Shadow Echo to ‘record’ shadows as they appear, then use them to progress even if the real shadow vanishes.

◾Visually charming and inspired by classic black and white cartoons, One Upon Light is a true test of skill, brains and photophobia!
