Indie games company State of Play brings its award winning handmade puzzle adventure Lumino City to iPhone / iPad. Over three years in the making, inspired by classics like Monkey Island, The Neverhood and Machinarium, Lumino City’s world was crafted entirely by hand out of paper, card, miniature lights, and motors.
Through this gorgeous environment weaves a clever, charming and puzzling adventure. Lumi’s grandfather, the caretaker of Lumino City, has been kidnapped. To find him, you must explore the city and figure out the fascinating mechanisms that power this unique world.
Winner of numerous international awards, including the BAFTA for Artistic Achievement alongside nominations for Innovation and Best British Game, Lumino City comes to the App Store as the perfect tactile experience for iPhone or iPad.
Lumino City has been extensively optimised and overhauled for touch screen play, with larger text dynamically adapting to your preferred device, intuitive tap controls, multi-touch, and a host of other improvements.
State of Play make uniquely beautiful games. Everything you see on screen in Lumino City was made using paper, cardboard and glue. The process culminated in the building of a 10 foot high model city, using laser cutting plus miniature lights and motors to bring it to life. State of Play collaborated with award-winning architects, fine-artists, prop-makers and animators, each discipline brought something unique to the design and execution of the finished game.
Since launching on PC and MAC Lumino City has been both critically and player acclaimed. It has a Steam User rating of 9/10 and has won numerous international awards for both it’s artistic achievement and game innovation. For the launch on iOS the team has enhanced the gameplay and interface, making use of touchscreen capabilities like multitouch, for a seamless and beautifully tactile experience. The game also takes advantage of new iOS9 features including ReplayKit, so you can record, voiceover and share your favourite scenes from the game.
State of Play’s handmade epic is now released and is available on the App store with the price of $4.99 /£3.99
