Kongregate, a leading publisher of mobile and web games and wholly-owned subsidiary of GameStop Corporation, today announced it will begin publishing games for PC on Steam, continuing the company’s diversification to reach gamers across multiple platforms. The company’s first PC title, Slashy Hero, the award-winning Halloween-themed action game from Gentlebros, is available now on Steam and Spellstone, the wildly popular collectible card game from Synapse Games, is slated to launch in November.
“Gamers have so many options – from mobile to console to PC – in fact according to a recent poll nearly 70 percent of our audience plays across multiple platforms,” said Emily Greer, president and co-founder of Kongregate. “Despite the growth of newer platforms, PC gaming remains a viable and exciting option that our players want to explore. By adding Steam to our publishing business, we can support even more indie developers and deliver unique and innovative content to gamers worldwide.”
Current Slashy Hero mobile players can download and play the Steam version with their upgrades, characters and saved games in-tact.
Slashy Hero is an action game where players must save Halloween from a great Evil that’s stolen all of the world’s candy. Players progress through more than 45 spooky levels and collect 60 unique costume parts. The game, which is currently available for iOS and Android devices, was honored at Casual Connect Asia 2016 with the Indie Prize Award for “Best Mobile Game” and “Best Game Design.” More information on Spellstone for PC will be announced shortly.
Slashy Hero is currently available on Steam and has been rated “E10+” by the ESRB.
