Mondrian – Abstraction in Beauty updated to version 1.3

Mondrian – Abstraction in Beauty, an accessible block-breaking game celebrating the artistic growth of video games in the 20th century, has been updated to version 1.3. This is the game’s third major update, adding Impressionism-inspired background art, a new Arcade Mode, Steam Leaderboards, a new paddle type, and a new powerup to the dynamically generated gameplay. So far the game has received over 100 bug fixes and gameplay changes, dozens of new features, new Gem collectibles, new level packs, new Steam Achievements, and much more.

To celebrate the update, Lantana Games is also releasing a Shareware/Demo version of the game. Following the traditional model of Shareware games, it can be found not only at Steam and, but also on BitTorrent and other download sites. It features a slimmed down version of the game, but unlimited playtime. “We feel like Mondrian is a game that could and should be in every household,” says Danny Silvers, CEO of Lantana Games. “The feedback from our community has been a huge help in honing the gameplay, adding new features, and taking it to a whole other level. The game has never played better and we’re excited to hopefully introduce it to a whole new audience.”

The game is supported by the wonderful fans of Lantana Games and has received no grants, funding, or crowdfunding for its development.
