Curve Digital has announced that hit interactive PC short story, Murder will be launching on iOS tablet and Android devices later today, priced 99p/$1.49/ €1.49.
Developed by Peter Moorhead, the creator of cult space adventure game Stranded – which garnered a dedicated consumer and critical following last year – Murder brings a fresh dose of cinematic flair and environmental storytelling to mobile and tablet players.
Set in a near-future Tokyo, the game tells the tale of Motomeru Miniori, a Lieutenant in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, during her investigation of a strange and dangerous case. Through these events, Murder explores the intersection of morality and sentience in a future where both have become commodities.
“Murder explores a unique story in a distinct visual style which really makes it stand out from the crowd,” says Jason Perkins, Managing Director at Curve Digital. “We have had loads of the community eagerly awaiting the iOS and Android releases so we are excited to finally get it out and into their hands. We really hope everyone enjoys the game when it launches later today.”
The hand-crafted pixel art world of Murder combines classic point-and-click mechanics with an experimental style that’s streamlined for mobile play. The fully-voiced and varied cast of future Tokyo denizens brings the world and storytelling to life, all backed up with a dynamic score by KubrixXx that spans noisehop, neo-classical, and ambient styles.
Here’s what the media are saying about the game:
