When the fate of the world hangs in the balance, it’s up to a dutiful Valkyrie, wrathful Shadow Knight, naive elf princess, determined forest witch, and adorable little rabbit prince (sorry, I meant adorable little Pooka prince) to prevent the end of days. That’s because Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, the HD remake of Vanillware’s PS2 classic Odin Sphere, is now available for the PlayStation 4 ($59.99/CA$79.99), PlayStation 3 ($49.99/CA$64.99), and PlayStation Vita ($39.99/CA$54.99). With 1080p/60fps visuals, a new skills tree system, revamped potion brewing, and more, adventuring in the lands of Erion have never been more enticing… or dangerous.
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is a total overhaul of the original PS2 version of the game. From completely hand-redrawn graphics and refined gameplay mechanics to optimizations for the release consoles, the game fully encapsulates an artfully elegant tale steeped in Norse mythology with all the makings of a tragic opera. The five main characters each traverse their own storylines, be it as friends, lovers, or mortal enemies, punctuated with sharp, precise combat against fantastical enemies and dragons – Odin Sphere Leifthrasir gives players the sensation of playing in a fairytale of Wagnerian proportions as the main characters all vie to regain stability in their world of warring kingdoms.
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is now available for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. For a limited time and only at participating retailers, a 64-page softcover art book will come with standard purchases. There’s also the Odin Sphere Leifthrasir “Storybook Edition” premium version (priced at $79.99/CA$99.99 and limited to the PS4 version of the game) that includes a hardcover version of the art book, a special Potion Recipe t-shirt, a metal slipcase for the game, an art print, and premium outer packaging.
