The January Android Qi game chart shows that 2013 has started with a bit of a bang for Android gamers. For one thing, there’s PBA Bowling Challenge, which lets us get our strike-hitting kicks without the need for silly footwear. Bonus. At #5, we have the return of a heavyweight champ in Imangi’s Temple Run 2. It’s tighter, prettier, and more varied than the original game-that-launched-a-thousand-endless-runners. Ant Raid, meanwhile, serves up real-time strategy on a microscopic scale, as you command your insect minions to defend and attack. Finally, in at #8, we have Zenonia 5, the latest in Gamevil’s popular action-RPG franchise. With the best 2D graphics yet and an exciting PvP multiplayer element, it’s another strong addition to the series.
Topping the first Android Qi app chart of the year is Notes Widget HD, a virtual Post-it note app that should ensure you never forget your appointments again. Following closely behind that is another memory aid, Notif Pro. This one’s a little more sophisticated than Jakob S. Harteg’s software, mind, since it enables you to create notifications hands-free using voice recognition software. Pixlr Express takes third position in January with its powerful suite of photo editing tools. You can crop, re-size, and enhance your photos straight from your phone with this tool. Magic. Speaking of on-phone enhancements, FxGuru:Movie FX Director lets you spruce up your videos with a little Hollywood magic. Add explosions, alien invasions, robot attacks, and other impressive special effects. Who knows – it might even make your life look exciting.
