Ready for the full Steam release of HEART&SLASH? (Video)

BadLand Games is happy to announce that its robotic roguelike/3D brawler-hybrid HEART&SLASH has exited Early Access 🙂

After a successful Early Access debut in 2014, the Kickstarter-funded title is ready to make its mark on Steam with a special launch price of $13.49.

Take on the role of Heart, a malfunctioning robot, and fight for your identity against the monolithic QuAsSy (Quality Assurance Systems) — an evil machine obsessed with robots that look and sound the same. Meet Slash — dashing veteran of the Robolution. Can you capture Slash’s attention over several playthroughs? Fair warning: Each quest is an opportunity to woo (or anger!) the old-timer. Your choices will define the relationship between the two robots. Go for a killing blow, and you might end the relationship before it even begins. Choose love, and victory could slip through your mechanical fingers …

DEVELOPER QUOTE
Juan Raigada (Creative Director, aheartfulofgames):

“We’re beyond excited to leave Steam Early Access on such a high note. Our time on Early Access was invaluable. We got the opportunity to interact with and listen to a very passionate user base — using feedback to make Heart&Slash the game we always hoped it could be. Thank you, Kickstarter and Steam communities!”

KEY FEATURES
* Fight using 75 different weapons and 60 different body parts that will change the way the game plays. Teleport, stop time, fly with a jetpack, wall-jump, discover enemy weaknesses, and more. From the trivial to the game-changing, you can try thousands of different combinations.

* Die and try again. Permadeath means that Heart&Slash is not easy. Every time you start a new game, the levels you fight through and the items or weapons you collect will change.

* Experience a retro-futuristic art style reminiscent of 32-bit action-adventure classics.

* Heart&Slash will have almost no downtime. Levels are short and brutal — and the game, in a successful run, should not be too taxing on your time. (Whether you’ll ever be able to make a successful run is another matter.)

Ultimately, playing Heart&Slash is not about mastering one system. Instead, it’s about being able to adapt to what you are given … and making the best of it!

PRICING & AVAILABILITY
Heart&Slash is now available on Steam (Windows/Mac/Linux) in all territories. The game retails for $13.49 for the first week of release, and will then go back up to $14.99.
