Firefly Studios has partnered with GOG to release Stronghold Crusader 2 DRM-free with full support for GOG Galaxy. The independent developer also announced plans to launch future Stronghold titles, both new entries in the series and back catalogue updates, DRM-free on GOG.
Nick Tannahill, Marketing Manager at Firefly said, “The plan is to bring multiple Stronghold titles to GOG. Say we update our back catalogue, as we did for the HD titles, those will be available on GOG and the same goes for new PC Stronghold titles. We love working with GOG and a large part of our audience is telling us they want to play DRM-free, so it’s a no brainer. The introduction of GOG Galaxy also makes the technical process much easier for us.”

The new DRM-free version of Stronghold Crusader 2 comes packed with a year’s worth of free updates. New features include classic Stronghold Crusader maps, AI invasions for Sandbox mode and advanced multiplayer options requested by players. Also added is support for GOG Galaxy, the fully optional gaming client used to download updates, play online multiplayer and more.
