Tri-Strip, the second mobile release from sc0tt games, has received a major game-changing content update.
Tri-Strip is a retro-themed puzzle game, much in the same vein as such 90s classics as Tetris, Columns, or TriTryst. Anyone who feels nostalgia for the Gameboy-era visual style will appreciate this game.
The aim of Tri-Strip is to drop triangular tiles onto a grid to create square or diamond shapes. The concept is very simple, but the game itself is difficult since the tiles are arranged in groups, which makes fitting them onto the grid very challenging. It features multiple game modes, which introduce added difficulty through timed events and differently-shaped grids.
It was originally released in late May, to generally poor reviews and sales. In the spirit of not releasing bad games, it has been re-written and released as a free post-launch upgrade.
The upgrade features the following changes:
•Completely re-balanced gameplay: Every game mode now has a timer that counts down, but the timer is extended when you score. Games now last longer the better you play. The result is that Free Play mode is now actually challenging, and the Challenge mode is positively brutal!
•An entirely new and more polished UI, with an added options menu.
•Three alternate soundtracks (including a chip-tune remix of the theme from “The Ingenious Machine”).
•Three alternate backgrounds.
•Six alternate colour schemes.
•Left-handed mode.
•Improved support for 4:3 resolutions.
The game is available for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and is also available for PC from the Windows 8 Store.
