Unique puzzle platformer ‘In Between’ features a sad story about a man dying of cancer

With ‘In Between’ gentlymad and Headup Games present mobile gamers a unique experience this Thursday. The puzzle platformer is about a man who learns he has cancer and thus only a few more weeks to live. After the terrifying diagnosis he experiences the five phases of grief, derived from the Kübler-Ross model.

‘In Between’ is an indie game in its purest form: easy to understand, fun and challenging on the one hand, but by featuring a dark undertone and a very reflective story it is also able to generate deep feelings not many other games are capable of.

Every of the five phases of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance) is represented by a specific gameplay element that brings the players new challenges. We listened a lot of feedback from the game’s Steam version that was released in the end of August and reworked the difficulty, so now playing itself is very enjoyable and players can concentrate to the serious and deep story.
