Following the recent test launch in Canada that propelled the game to the top three grossing spot in the Racing category, and into the Top 50 overall Free Apps on the App Store, Sky Pirates Racing is now available globally for the iPad, iPhone, Amazon Kindle Fire and on Facebook (Google Play for Android next week).
Developed by Fathom Interactive, Sky Pirates Racing is a 3D cross-platform multiplayer game where players compete in real time. Racers must speed through a three-lap, six-player race on their magic-powered Glidewings.
The new game kicks off with eight race courses ranging from bright green meadows and cold arctic landscapes to scorching sand dunes, with plans for a new track to be added every two weeks. As players fly through the tracks, they must make clever use of six magic crystal power-ups to boost their speed, burn their rivals or drop tornados to slow others down; ultimately outsmarting the other racers to beat them to the finish line.
Players can race as any of the eight unique characters, or use a wide range of options to create their own characters and improve their Glidewing’s performance. New players start off with 2,000 crystals that they can use to purchase more power-ups, costumes and Glidewing parts from the in-game store.
Weekly content updates are already in the pipeline, promising more tracks, features and characters, including the skilled but cruel Pirate King.
