escapeVektorTM to be released in Japan on Nintendo 3DSTM and PlayStation®Vita

Sydney based developer Nnooo is delighted to announce its multi award winning game escapeVektor is to be released in Japan on the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita (PS Vita).

Recently voted Australian Game of the Year by Digitally Downloaded, escapeVektor will be released on Nintendo 3DS in Japan on December 11th. The release date for PS Vita is still to be announced. The price of the game on both handhelds will be ¥700.

escapeVektor is a retro-styled arcade game in which the player controls Vektor, an entity trapped inside the player’s CPU. The player has to help Vektor escape the CPU which has been holding him captive. In making his escape, Vektor must get through obstacles and avoid enemies, each with different hunting patterns and intelligence. As the player completes the 150 levels in the game, escape becomes more difficult. New abilities unlock to help the player outwit and destroy the CPU’s army. As the player continues through the game, old code and memories are unlocked which reveal more about Vektor’s past.

escapeVektor was released across the Americas, Europe, Australia and New Zealand on the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita at the end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013 to critical acclaim.

“We were approached by a few Japanese publishers earlier in the year, all keen to release escapeVektor in Japan,” said Bruce Thomson, Business & Marketing Director at Nnooo. “They all thought the game would resonate with Japanese gamers.”

escapeVektor will be published in Japan by Arc System Works, best known for publishing the Japanese versions of the Guilty Gear, Blazblue and Persona Arena series of games across multiple platforms.

“It’s great to see escapeVector become accessible to a whole new market,” said Thomson. “We’ve also recently reduced the price of the game permanently across existing territories so we hope many more people will pick it up over the upcoming holiday period.”
