Ex-Halfbrick developers Protostar about to release first game, Checkpoint Champion.

Two Halfbrick Studios veterans, who have each been at the Fruit Ninja company for around seven years, have split away and are now preparing to release their first mobile game, Checkpoint Champion.

Checkpoint Champion is a free, mobile game that will put the players driving skills to the ultimate test in a series of fiendish 10-second challenges. It features top-down driving action with simple, two-button controls, a cast of colourful, retro-inspired cars, and several different game modes. Challenges take place over several terrains and locations, accompanied by a funky soundtrack. Each event has it’s own leaderboard and the game gives the option to share screenshots and video replays for ultimate bragging rights.

It will be available on iPhone and iPad and is set to release on November 20.
