What if there was a game where you could slow down time just enough to snatch a rocket out of thin air, and then re-direct it back to where it came from moments before traveling back in time to avoid the explosion? That’s just one of the impressive and inventive gameplay solutions to be found in Imperative Entertainment and Phosphor Games’ new video game, Gemini: Heroes Reborn coming January 19 for Xbox One & STEAM, and early February for other consoles.
Gemini: Heroes Reborn is a first-person, action-adventure video game in which players assume the role of Cassandra, an ordinary college student on a journey of discovery to unlock her incredible powers. Using a variety of super powers such as telekinesis and time travel, Cassandra must battle her way through an enemy-filled underground facility called The Quarry in order to save her abducted friend and solve a family mystery.
“Gemini: Heroes Reborn is actually an original story that shows a darker part of the Heroes Reborn universe unseen on the television series,” said Tim Kring, creator of the HEROES universe and co-founder of Imperative Entertainment. “We designed it to be a true gamer’s game that requires players to read and react to hostile situations quickly and effectively. The ability to combine or ‘stack’ multiple super powers provides a gameplay experience unlike any game yet and we are eager to see some of the creative solutions players come up with to get through the game.”
Created by renowned development studio Phosphor Games using the Unreal 4 engine, Gemini: Heroes Reborn features fast-paced and strategic gameplay with mind-bending possibilites such as re-directing bullets back towards the enemy by slowing time and grabbing them out of mid-air, or flinging objects from one time period into another to thwart attacks and solve puzzles.
In addition to Time Slow and Telekinesis, other super powers include:
· Time Shift: jump between time periods to keep enemies confused, gain advantages and solve puzzles.
· Time Scout: peer through a window in time to quickly assess situations without making a Time Jump.
· TK Projectile: fire a power blast of energy that impacts everything in its path.
But Cassandra isn’t the only one with super powers and in fact, some enemies are immune to her new-found talents, which places a premium on creative, out-of-the-box thinking and flawless execution. Luckily, Cassandra can also make use of the advanced “ragdoll physics” and use previously dispatched enemies to help her through a level.
Gemini: Heroes Reborn will be available via download for $14.99 on January 12 for Xbox One & STEAM and January 19 for other consoles.
The final three episodes of Heroes Reborn will air on January 7, 14 and 21 on NBC.
