Flappitalism – Because making games probably won’t make you a bunch of money, but you should do it anyway.

Play Slouch Couch Studio’s new web/ios/android game where developer Dave Homan makes a statement about being an indie developer and struggling to make money through his games.

Dave Homan, the lone human behind Slouch Couch Studios, has just released his next game, Flappitalism. In Flappitalism Homan expresses his personal distaste for entrepreneur culture’s effects on himself, the “grind” mentality in game development, and growing up in capitalist western culture. Inspired by the events regarding Flappy Bird, and Flappy Bird’s creator’s decision to pull the app for his own mental health, Flappitalism is Homan’s attempt at reminding himself (and hopefully other indie developers) that life is more than just grinding capitalism until you “make it rich”.

More information can be read from Homan’s blog post where he touches on several topics, including why he made the game: http://slouchcou.ch/?p=372
