Fortune-Telling Virtual Reality Experience Kismet on PlayStation VR (Video)

Available at launch of PlayStation®VR, award-winning VR experience combines Tarot Card reading, daily Astrology sessions, and an ancient Game of Wit

Psyop, Inc., an award-winning creative studio, announced today the launch of its fortune-telling Virtual Reality (VR) experience, Kismet, on PlayStation®VR (PS VR). PS VR was released today by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. and is available in Japan, North America, Europe and Asia.

Kismet combines Tarot Card reading, daily Astrology & Horoscope sessions, and an ancient board game called Ur to create a one-of-a-kind VR experience. Named after the mysterious character at its core, Kismet is a unique interactive VR experience inspired by the mystic arts and brought to life in beautifully detailed, handmade, Gothic style.

Kismet was recently nominated for the Proto Awards in the category of Best Art Direction, as well as being named an Official Selection of the IndieCade Festival 2016. The app has been critically acclaimed since it first came out in May, with reviewers calling it “totally unique,” “gorgeous” and “remarkably compelling.”

“The launch of PlayStation VR is a giant step forward for the entire industry, and it is a great honor to have Kismet included among the first VR experiences to launch on the new system,” said David Chontos, creative director of Psyop and the writer and director of Kismet. “We feel that Kismet presents a different kind of experience than any other type of VR content out there, and it helps showcase what VR is truly all about. We look forward to hearing from an entirely new audience on their impressions of the experience.”

Powered by a deck of 22 hand-painted Tarot cards and an accurate real-time map of the solar system, Kismet is meant to be experienced daily, with unique outcomes every calendar day that are directly tied to not only the cards that you choose, but your individual birth date and the actual alignment of celestial bodies at the time of your reading. Seated across a table from an enchanted automaton with the power to look into the future, you’ll be transported to a place where magic is real.
