Origami Kami: Student Capstone Team Releases Senior Project Game to PS VITA

Senior students from the University of Utah’s Entertainment Arts and Engineering (EAE) program have released their senior project game to Playstation Vita. Created over the course of a school year, the game is the graduating student’s final project in the undergraduate EAE Game Design Program rated #2 in the nation by Princeton Review.

“Origami Kami” is a top down, 3D puzzle boat game. Players collect paper cranes while navigating stunning Asian rivers while avoiding whirlpools and other hazards. Accumulated cranes can be used to purchase additional boat models and skins.

“’Origami Kami’ is an easy game to pick up, play, and get lost in,” said Ross Marabella, producer for Valhalla Studio Productions, who worked on the game with 10 other programmers, artists, and designers from the University of Utah. “It’s a perfect game to unwind while enjoying the scenic water and world.”

The game is available now on Playstation Mobile for Playstation Vita or select Playstation Certified Android devices. It retails for $1.29.
