NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe S.A.S. today announced the release of PAC-MAN ™ Championship Edition DX for the Windows 8 and Windows RT operating systems via the Windows Store. PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX takes PAC-MAN’s classic and beloved gameplay and twists it into an intense gaming experience giving the long running franchise fresh gameplay mechanics.
Average press review scores of 93% (source Metacritic) on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX continues NAMCO BANDAI Games’ tradition of enhancing their classic arcade franchises for today’s gamers. The game features challenging mazes and modes presenting players with the fastest and most furious PAC-MAN game to date.
PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX includes a Score Attack mode, where players must collect as many points as possible before time runs out. Players are also challenged with a Time Trials mode that has players clearing out a set number of circuits around each maze as fast as they can, while the Ghost Combo mode forgoes gobbling Pac-Dots for chomping as many ghosts as possible as PAC-MAN devours Power Pellets.
In PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX, multitudes of sleeping ghosts infest each maze. As PAC-MAN runs past these ghosts, they become angry and chase him until he finds a Power Pellet. If a ghost gets too close, a slowdown effect will begin, giving the player an extra vital second to figure out what the best course of action is for escape. If the ghost train becomes too much to handle, players can set off a bomb which sends all active ghosts back to the center of each maze.
PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX for Windows 8 and Windows RT are available for a MSRP of $9.99 in the United States and 8.49€ in Europe. PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX is also available on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.
