Spirit of War: The Great War invites players to relive WWI’s key battles on virtual table-top battlefields divided in hex cases.
Accessible for newcomers and deeper for wargaming enthusiasts, Spirit of War offers a lengthy campaign with 48 different maps to dominate in solo as well as an hotseat multiplayer mode featuring 12 maps.
Whether on the land, sea or in the air, maneuvering the many units (infantry, cannons, transporters, planes, boats, etc.) wisely and picking each skirmishes carefully will be the key to victory. To conquer, two ways are possible: taking control of the opponent’s HQ or defeating every enemy troops.
An accurate depiction of The Great War’s events
Spirit of War has been created with a real commitment to being as historically true as possible. Thus, battles are set on dates two months apart, matching the real historical events. Between each of them, a summary of the events written and documented by Julien Hervieux – an historian specialized in World War I – is available to the player.
