Cinemaware® announces that a Mac-compatible version of its Amiga & PC-DOS editions of Defender of the Crown is now available via GOG.com!

Cinemaware today announced that the Macintosh-compatible version of its previously released Amiga & PC-DOS editions of Defender of the Crown is now available via GOG.com, the leading source of DRM-free games. All Cinemaware games distributed via GOG.com come with original manual scans, box art, music files and when possible other bonus content available at the time of their original release. Most importantly however, the original, graphically superior Amiga versions of our games will be included as free bonus goodies!

Defender of the Crown, the first Cinemaware title to have launched on GOG.com, is a strategy game originally launched on the Commodore Amiga in 1986, as it set a high bar for stunning graphical presentation and innovative gameplay for the time.

Eventually ported to a variety of systems, Defender of the Crown brought the Saxon struggle to fight off the hordes of Normans to life in a colorful and memorable fashion that endeared it to fans of strategy gaming around the globe.

Wolfric The Wild, spokesperson for Cinemaware, said “We are proud to be working with GOG.com in bringing our classic games into wider distribution so that many more gamers can enjoy the classic gameplay of Cinemaware’s games, and this latest Mac-compatible release is no different. We hope Mac gamers everywhere will give Defender of the Crown a try!”
