Atom Split Games and Brian McCarthy are proud to announce that “The Power Game”, a reboot of the popular 1970’s two-player strategy board game, is now available on Android devices for €1.99 at http://tinyurl.com/powergameandroid. The game will stimulate you to use your head and create a chain of cogs in order to defeat your opponent and win the game. Easy to learn, but hard to master, fans of chess-like games that challenge your mind will enjoy this family friendly game.
Players control two rows of opposing cogs, and must move their cogs around the board in an effort to turn their opponents “master gear” clockwise. The Power Game features three game modes – a single player mode against the three difficulties of AI, a two-player mode, and an online multiplayer mode where players can gain experience and increase their rank to become a Power Game Master. It also features an in-depth tutorial to help new players get to grips with the game.
The paid app gives full access to the entire game, with optional micro-transactions to allow players to earn or purchase additional backgrounds, cogs and master gears to personalise their playing experience. However, The Power Game is one of the first to feature a “shock-proof” microtransactions model, allowing players to buy a one-off purchase to disable additional purchases, and give unlimited bolts to spend on player customisations. This family-friendly model gives parents a way to avoid bill-shock situations, sometimes seen with other games.
Speaking at the launch of the Android version of the game, Brian McCarthy, the game’s inventor, said “I am delighted to see The Power Game on Android, the largest mobile platform in the world. The game lends itself very well to both mobile and tablets, and I’m really happy that the game recreates, and improves, my original board game design.” Atom Split Games CEO James Daly said “We have taken a huge amount of learning from our launch on Windows 8 in September, and this improved version of the game is ready to challenge players around the world.”
The Power Game is out now in Google Play at http://tinyurl.com/powergameandroid. It is also out now in the Windows Store, and is coming to iPhone and iPad in January 2014.
