It’s pretty easy to see why The Journey Down: Chapter Two topped the Qi iPhone games chart for September. It’s another slice of funny, clever, and thoroughly engrossing point and click adventuring that somehow maintains the high standard of the first chapter. Talking of continuing the good work, at number two we have Mikey Boots. BeaverTap’s third Mikey game scraps the platforming element of Mikey Pants and Mikey Hooks in favour of a rocket-propelled arcade time trial extravaganza. Returning to the point and click adventure theme, at number four we have Valiant Hearts: The Great War. The key to Ubisoft’s effort is it’s moving, stylised take on World War I. You won’t have played anything quite like it. Finishing off a very classy September is CounterSpy, down at number five. This is Sony’s impossibly slick and cool stealth-’em-up, which is equal parts The Incredibles, James Bond, and Metal Gear Solid. Sorted Food tops the Qi iPhone apps chart for September. Some have called it the Spotify of food, and you can see why. It’s a hub for thousands of recipes and how to food prep videos, many of which have been shared by your fellow users. At number two, Calculator # provides a free calculator app with an advanced algebra engine and mathematical display support. Perfect for those advanced mathematical tasks. Here’s an interesting one at number three. Sing2Learn promises to teach you English through the medium of popular songs. Given how memorable music can be, it seems a very good idea to us. Down at number five, finally, we have Tictail. This funky app helps you find the best up-and-coming fashion brands and boutiques all over the world, with carefully curated collections and direct store access.
