Hotly-Anticipated Co-op VR Game Now Available for Early Access Play and Feedback
LA-Based virtual reality development studio Survios launches its flagship title, Raw Data, for Early Access on Steam today.
Raw Data is a highly immersive, made-for-VR co-op combat game with a lively world influenced by classic sci-fi thrillers. The player becomes the adrenaline-charged hero of his own futuristic action blockbuster, complete with an arsenal of advanced weapons and futuristic technopowers driven by Active VR gameplay.
The initial Early Access version of Raw Data features multiple heroes and enemies, a variety of missions, networked co-op gameplay, locomotion, special ability unlocks, and much more. All players who buy the game in Early Access will also receive the final game on release, expected later this year.
Raw Data has received high praise from both VR insiders and mainstream gamers at Game Developers Conference, PAX East, and E3. TechCrunch hailed the two-player experience as “the most advanced first-person shooter in VR.” Tom’s Guide named it the best VR game of GDC 2016. And at E3, Unreal Engine and GamesBeat awarded Raw Data with their “Awesome (Hardware Mover)” and “Technical Achievement (VR Voodoo)” accolades.
“The VR community greatly influences our game direction, and we’re very excited to hear what they have to say now that our first public build of Raw Data is available for everyone to experience,” said James Iliff, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Survios
“Our goal is to deliver a complete VR gaming experience with intuitive gameplay, thrilling action, compelling environments, and hours of replayability. Player feedback is invaluable in making that happen,” added Chris Hewish, Survios’ Head of Studio. “We’re fully supporting Raw Data with continuous content updates.”
Raw Data is now available for HTC Vive on Steam Early Access for $39.99 (plus a 20% launch discount).
