Timecrest 2: The Door, a sequel to Timecrest (Video)

Sneaky Crab has revealed Timecrest 2: The Door, a sequel to Timecrest, a free-to-play gamebook experience played out over real time to launch on June 16, 2016 as a free update. Timecrest was selected as part of Apple Watch Best of 2015, and its sequel features five times more words and a soundtrack with 14 songs.

“Timecrest 2: The Door features a new level of depth and epic scale to the interactive fiction genre on the app store,” said Sneaky Crab CEO Justin Ng. “Instead of a single character trying to survive a single scenario, we’ve written a story that truly builds a complex and exciting fantasy world to explore and over a dozen characters to meet and befriend, culminating in player decisions set to save—or destroy—the entire world.”

Timecrest 2: The Door, developed for iPhone and iPad, is set in the magical world of Alyncia, where we meet a young mage named Ash who desperately needs your help to save it from imminent destruction. The story continues seamlessly from the cliffhanger conclusion of Timecrest, where decisions made in Timecrest will impact the storylines of Timecrest 2: The Door. Meet a cast of colorful characters, from A.C. the grumpy swordsman, to Elise the mysterious necromancer, or Roger, the big-talking water mage who cowers in a fight. Guide Ash on who to befriend and who to leave behind. Break a promise to save the world, and that character may betray you later. Follow through on that promise, and lose an opportunity, but make a new friend.

“It took us almost a year to plan such a complex story affected by player decisions that is delivered clearly and simply to the player,” said Ng. “The scale of our world and plot is truly breathtaking. I can’t wait for our loyal players to explore Alyncia once again.”

Timecrest 2: The Door New Features Include:
•A full story with over 170,000 words.
